Ellie's REAL 2nd Birthday

Since yesterday was Ellie's REAL 2nd birthday we had a little celebration for her in the evening. We pulled out all the presents we had saved from her birthday party and she opened them (with alot of help from Rett)! Let's just hope that he lets her help him next week when it's his birthday. Anyways, Troy had to go to a Pharmaceutical Dinner that was already planned so my parents brought over BBQ and Strawberry Shortcake and we had a low key evening. Ellie is a very lucky girl because she has so many people that love her and gave her many fun gifts! Thanks y'all!

Ellie's 18 months

My sweet little baby girl is one and a half! Time is going by so swiftly it's hard to register. I absolutely adore Ellie. She has really come into her own personality over the last 6 months. She is curious beyond belief and gets into EVERYTHING! If the house gets quiet for more than a minute I know somethings up. She a major lover of books. I'll bet she spends more time being read to than she does eating. Her favorite book right now is one titled "animal sounds" where each page prompts me to act out the sound that particular animal makes. We have gotten to the point now where she opens to a random page, points to the animal and waits for me to make the sound and then laughs and laughs and laughs.
Ellie loves drawing and playing with chalk outside. It doesn't matter how cold it is, it is never too cold for drawing with chalk. She understands many, many words. We have to spell BATH or she immediately wants to go take one regardless of the time of day. She also really likes simple chores (for now!). I can ask her to go put something in the trash or put the dirty clothes in her laundry hamper and she eagerly does it! She loves to sing E-I-E-I-Oh! and dance and jump (she can actually get both feet up off the floor at the same time).

Height: 31.5 inches (45%)
Weight: 23lbs. 10oz (50%)
Head Cir: 48 cm (80%)

Ellie is 9 months old!

Well, actually she is 9 months and 1 week old. I was waiting to post this until after we went to her 9mo well check.

Ellie is growing up so fast! She is 17lbs. 11ozs. and 27" long. This puts her in the 30th percentile for her height and weight (so she's a little smaller than your average 9 month old). The peditrician said she is meeting all her developmental milestones and looks just great!

She is crawling all over the place and has recently started pulling up in her crib, on her play kitchen and the ottoman. She babbles alot...she makes the sounds of dada, mama, and baba.

She has just about outgrown her infant carrier so I am going to transition her into Rett's carseat (the Britax Roundabout) this week. I went to BuyBuy Baby on Wednesday and bought Rett this new car/booster seat. I chose this one because the back is removeable. He still falls asleep in the car often and needs some sort of headrest.

Ellie's 8 months old

Today Ellie is 8 months old. Her personality is so easy-going and relaxed. She loves it when Rett "tickles" her and when Bodie sniff's her to she what she's up to. It gives her the giggles. :)
Where she's at right now:
Diapers: Size 3 cruisers or 2-3 swaddlers
Clothing: Size 6-12 month
Favorite Finger Foods: Cheerios and Yogurt Melts.
Favorite Baby Food: Beechnut Banana Apple Yogurt...but this is my new favorite. :)
Favorite toy: Sophie the Giraffe
Sleep Schedule: Sleeps from 8pm-7am most nights. Naps from 9:30-11am and also from 2:30-4pm most days.
Teeth: She has the front two bottom teeth with a 3rd due to pop through anyday now.
Crawling status: She does not crawl yet...but get's up on her hand and knees and rocks back and forth.
Milestones: She can move from her hands and knees up to a seated position. She did this for the first time on March 11,2010. Now she's practicing it all the time.
